Belly Fat Loss Tip # 1 – Decrease Stress

Would you believe that many of the people I consult are not able to lose fat because they are stressed!

Stress is a natural physical occurrence to get our body prepared to fight or flight. It is a basic instinct that kicks in when we feel under danger and helps us avoid a bad situation and is necessary for LIFE.

It saves us by helping us run or get out of the way of danger

Interestingly though,  a stress response can be generated in our bodies in a number of ways:

Thoughts    Situations                    Feelings

Pain            Medications                  Work

Foods          People                           Events

All of these can generate a stress response in our body.

So what happens in a stress response?

WE get a release in the stress hormones cortisol, testosterone, adrenaline and noradrenalin, which stimulates the body to “fight or flee”and you experience:

> Released sugar in your blood stream (causes anxiety, a thrill, agitation)

> Your heart rate increases

>  Your blood pressure goes up

>  Your pupils dilate

These hormones (adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol) result in a switching off of non urgent functions which leads to…

>  Your bowel slowing down
>  Your bladder clamming up
Digestion slowing down
So for this reason alone, it is best to be relaxed (most of the time) BUT especially when eating.
Other wise you will end up gaining belly fat. And in order to lose stubborn belly fat, you need to decrease stress.
