How can I measure my health?
After 30 years (OMG I sound old) in the health industry I have seen a range of testing methods done to determine someone’s health. But never seen anything like hair testing. In this post I am going to show you how a hair test works and demonstrate a case study.
First, let’s discard the hospital testing as most of that testing (Xrays, CT scans, blood tests) were to determines someone’s severity of disease.
Three years ago now, the Cell Well-being device was introduced to Australia.
I have a very healthy degree of skeptism when it comes to diagnostics, including main stream-accepted devices such as mammogram (which has been linked with causing breast cancers)!
So when I was shown the information the Cell Well-being hair test offered I was blown away… with a reserved amount of skeptism.
Three years on, I can say that it is one of the most valuable tools I have encountered in my career.
The hair test offers people the following;
-
An outline of vitamins and deficiencies they may be low in;
-
A reflection of environmental load, including chemical, radiation and toxic burden;
-
If you are low in any anti-oxidants which is the bodies’ first line defence against cancer;
-
And food intolerances.
As I stated, I have tried to prove the test wrong over the years and simply can’t fault it
Here is how it works
From 8-10 strands of hair (ideally not coloured for the previous week) the device scans the sine waves and formation of the hair. The scanned information goes to Germany and then returns the results very quickly. Of course being a trained professional I love seeing the results. It usually confirms what I am thinking, helps with my differential diagnosis and often helps me put together a script for someone. Particularly when it picks up bacteria, parasites, viruses!
Here’s an outline of what it measures.
Vitamins
Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B9 (folic acid), Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Inositol, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Betaine, Biotin, Vitamin K

Here are a few examples of how this has helped people and case studies.
Case Study Hair Test #1
Paul was low on energy and a very active person!
Paul wanted to do a health check and whilst living in the middle east wanted to be as healthy as he could. He wanted to ramp up his energy & lean down (despite having protein shakes wasn’t losing weight).
NB: Sending hair is not an issue via post and usually arrives within 7-10 days of being posted. Give a few days for us to run your test and you can have answers to your inquiries pretty quick!
Here are his results.
Straight away the report told me he had an issue with protein synthesis and sugar synthesis. This is common with people who eat on the run.
Your body requires you to be relaxed when you eat proteins. If not, you don’t release all the important acids, and enzymes, so proteins go through your gut undigested.
It also showed a problem with cows milk which explained why the protein shakes weren’t working. We swapped him to a non-dairy based protein. Also stopped lattes and cheese! This action alone will make a big difference to his energy levels and weight loss.
It was interesting to see fungus on his report. Fungus can be any fungus but often candidiasis. A very common fungus people have growing in their gut. It can cause bloating, hormone imbalances, headaches, low energy and in guys low sex drive.
I found it interesting that he had been diagnosed with this by a doctor 2 months before hand… so the treatments they had done hadn’t worked. In this instance I recommended a probiotic.
Methionine is a very important amino acids that helps the liver metabolise many things. Often is someone is flat in this pathway they have an issues with estrogen accumulation and other hormones. The treatment is eating foods high in methionine (and folic acid (folate = folliage, so green leafy vegetables).
The test is so cool as it gives a list of all foods that will help him improve… as a praccie, I will often suggest a short term supplement but love getting people to improve their nutrition.
In Paul’s case, we only started zinc and vitamin C, a probiotic and dropped dairy.
The rest should improve with better eating, a swap in protein powders and consistent exercise.
The test is recommended to be repeated in 3 months.

Case Study Hair Test #2
This is a 45 year old woman who was having weight issues, fibromyalgia and sleep problems.
Her legs would ache down her shins and keep her awake at night.
This is her hair test result.
Straight away I could pin point two reasons why her legs would be throbbing and keeping her awake at night.
She was low on magnesium and calcium – two very important minerals for the muscles, nervous system and mind.
When people are low on these two essential minerals they become fidgety, cramp, low on energy, ache and have issues switching off at night.
It is a very common cause for restless leg syndrome and other musculo-skeletal issues.
Parasites can also cause night time restlessness as that is when worms are most active.
They may cause anal itching, rashes, jaw clenching, weigh gain and irritability.
In my experience parasites (worms) may also cause leg aches and are really common in people who have pets!
Worming the pet and the humans, then repeating in three weeks is the best way to move forward on this one.
I started her on a magnesium, calcium supplement, a probiotic and her aches settled very quickly.
Case Study Hair Test #3
This young FIFO was having a few issues with recurring injuries.
This was following a major injury six months previously, which made him reassess life and while recovering he decided to become a vegetarian.
He said ” All I have done is stop eating meat. Nothing else has changed.”
Let’s check out his hair test.
I must say, when I hear that I get worried as “becoming vegetarian” in a healthy manner requires knowledge and commitment. The VIP proteins you miss from meats need to be replaced by plant proteins and you need to know which ones. The other BIG risk (which I see all the time in my clinic) is a lack in B12, folic acid and iron.
The big stand outs for me… are the B12 and Folic Acid (vitamin B9)!
Three months into being a vegetarian he was missing the two key ingredients for health and happiness!
The other (not so surprising response) was not knowing what foods are high in these two key nutrients. The both play a big role in cell function, preventing all sorts of diseases, including cancers, weight, heart disease.
Here is a list here:
B12: Tuna, salmon, sardines, trout, milk, lamb, eggs, meat. NON meat sources: nori, green leafy vege
Folic Acid (vitamin B9): black eyed peas, lentils, chick peas, mangos, pomegranates, lima beans, spinach, asparagus, lettuce, pak choy, collard greens, broccoli.
Furthermore with some education and working out foods, he can eat this FIFO can now request more green leafy vegetables while travelling and maybe consider a supplement to make sure when his diet is a little out of his control.
So as you guys can see I trust the incredible information the hair test offers. These are just three people and how it has helped them.
I really like the test as a practitioner as it takes the guess work out and it also means I don’t miss anything!
I mean – how can I always be sure you don’t have active viruses, bacteria or parasites unless YOU spend hundreds of dollars on testing?
Seriously one of the best tests I know going… you can do it from any where in the world, make sure you aren’t wasting money on supplements you don’t need, and also (more importantly) find out what your body is needing and missing!
You can use it for health optimisation, for disease management, and for helping yourself if you are fighting cancers, auto immune disease and allergies.
IT IS PERFECT for children.
It’s included with my 6 week program.
You can order it though from any where in the world, via this link.
